Sinners Retreat
Lauren Biel's dark contemporary romance strands a woman who has spent her life being careful in a remote retreat run by men who have spent their lives being dangerous. What begins as a weekend she cannot leave turns into a slow-building negotiation with a man whose control is the only safe thing in the building and whose interest in her is the most dangerous thing she has ever walked toward. Biel's voice, known from her TikTok-built indie catalog, leans into possessive heroes, morally questionable dynamics, and heroines who stop apologizing for what they want, and Sinners Retreat plays the genre's familiar beats, captivity tension, emotional brokenness, explicit heat, and earned softness, against the backdrop of a compound designed to hide the people inside it.
